HOW WE CAN HELP
Cervical Spine
Cervical Decompression: Spinal Decompression is an option for treating certain types of back pain. Your doctor may suggest this method for fixing bulging or ruptured disks, bony growths, or other spinal problems. Surgery may help relieve symptoms from pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.
Cervical Fusion: Spinal fusion (arthrodesis) is a surgical procedure that joins, or fuses, two or more vertebrae. Spinal fusion is major surgery, usually lasting several hours.
Cervical Instrumentation (Anterior Approach): Provides stability for the spine after surgery. A small plate is applied to the front of the spine. It protects the bone graft and adds extra stability.
Cervical Instrumentation (Posterior Approach): Provides stability for the spine after surgery. A cervical plate is used on the side of the spine (over the facet joints) and is attached to the spine using screws. The screws are angled out into the bone, away from the canal.
Implantation of an external bone growth stimulator: A bone growth stimulator is a supplemental form of therapy to help enhance the body’s bone healing process. An external bone growth stimulator is worn outside the skin, near the neck. The stimulator is battery powered and does not require surgical implantation or extraction.
Lumbar Spine
Lumbar Decompression: Spinal Decompression is an option for treating certain types of back pain. Your doctor may suggest this method for fixing bulging or ruptured disks, bony growths, or other spinal problems. Surgery may help relieve symptoms from pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.
Lumbar Fusion: Spinal fusion (arthrodesis) is a surgical procedure that joins, or fuses, two or more vertebrae. Spinal fusion is major surgery, usually lasting several hours.
Lumbar Instrumentation (Anterior Approach): Provides additional stability in the spine while aiding the fusion. Instrumentation aids the fusion by limiting the motion of the fused segment, allowing the bone to fuse more efficiently. Interbody cages are inserted in to the lumbar disc space through the front of the spine.
Lumbar Instrumentation (Posterior Approach): Provides additional stability in the spine while aiding the fusion. Instrumentation aids the fusion by limiting the motion of the fused segment, allowing the bone to fuse more efficiently. Lumbar cages are inserted into the lumbar disc space through the back on your spine.
Implantation of an internal bone growth stimulator: A bone growth stimulator is a supplemental form of therapy to help enhance the body’s bone healing process. An external bone growth stimulator is worn outside the skin, on the back. The stimulator is battery powered and does not require surgical implantation or extraction.
Implantation of an external bone growth stimulator: A bone growth stimulator is a supplemental form of therapy to help enhance the body’s bone healing process. An internal bone growth stimulator is implanted the same time as surgery in a soft pocket of tissue under the skin in the lower back to the spine of the spine. The stimulator delivers small electrical currents directly to the fusion.
